《Reading》

is a joy, and delving deeply into the Buddhist scriptures is the finest way for sentient beings to personally savor the nectar of the Dharma. Through sharing and discussion with fellow members of the reading group, we broaden the horizons of the Buddha’s teachings.
With the Dharma in our lives, we find peace and ease; with the Dharma in society, we cultivate respect and inclusiveness; and only with the Dharma in the world can there be true peace, free from conflict.

To uphold Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s idea of incorporating reading into our daily life, Humanistic Buddhist Reading Associations oblige Buddhists to pick up Buddhist sutras. The gradual and step by step process helps uncover the truth within Buddhism. It creates enduring learning through different life stages. The group discussions also bring forth the wisdom of collective creation and enhance our religious belief.

“Reading” is an enjoyment. Studying the sutras is the best way to learn Buddhism. Through discussions, we open up the dimensions of Buddhism. With Buddhism, life will be harmonious and free. With Buddhism, society will have respect and tolerance. With Buddhism, the world will be peaceful.Hence, “incorporating reading into our daily life” is not only the mission of Humanistic Buddhist Reading Associations, but also the responsibility of all.
